Frequently Asked Questions
-
Campers will be sleeping gender separated in cabins of 8-10 campers. The cabins are modern wooden structures providing a cozy camp style environment, equipped with bunk beds and an internal bathroom with a shower. There are additional communal bathrooms and shower houses available if/as needed.
-
Camp is a place where we encourage our participants to disconnect from the real world and only use their phones during a designated time each day (after lunch during quiet time). We will have an active blog and a photo album running to keep families up to date and we have a designated hotline available to contact during working hours with general questions, comments and/or concerns and in case of emergency please contact us at +50688005433.
-
Meals will be provided on a roofed dining terrace (or alternatively in case of extreme weather, in the indoor dining hall) where bunks sit and eat their buffet style meals together. The menu varies every day, providing a healthy size of traditional Costa Rican dishes with a flavour of camp here and there. At camp, meals are part of a tradition and are an important time to deliver announcements, create a sense of belonging within bunks that sit together and generally create a safe and caring environment.
-
Camp is a truly special place where there is always something happening. We have a well structured and planned itinerary (please see link), however the overarching idea is to keep participants engaged in a learning based environment where each day has a different theme from arts, athletics, adventure to an offsite excursion, finally ending in a family camp on our last day.
-
Our directors and counselors are experienced camp seniors who have spent multiple summers with our US based summer camp partners and bring an international standard of safety and risk management approach to how we run camp. There will be 24hrs of supervision of campers with a staff member (head of bunk) sleeping overnight in a cabin and all activities and events will follow a 1-8 staff to camper ratio.
